A day off, a good movie, and a decision
Friday was off to visit the 'rents as I haven't seen them in months. We had lunch and caught up a bit, then they sent me off with a bunch of frozen meat... excellent. We also discussed where I'd be moving when we're out of our current place at the end of November, more on that later.
Friday night the roommates and I saw The Departed, Scorcese's newest and finest. It was right up to par, I couldn't have asked for anything better. 9.5/10.
Saturday day was at the Mall of America for lunch and halloween costume browsing. Lunch was at Hooters :), and after about a half hour of browsing in the costume store, I bought a fake rat for 99 cents. And oh, I got my 99 cents worth. The first prank was on a roommate, we set it by his toilet. He jumped and was startled. Victim 1. Victims 2-4 were in St. Cloud Saturday night, with one being absolutely ridiculously funny. The biggest guy out of all of us jumped like a little girl. Gold. Victim 5 was my other roommate, cooking a pizza in the oven... I set it by the base of the oven and watched him jump as his heart skipped a beat. So fun.
And now for the decision... the roommate that was thinking about buying a house in Golden Valley got a money making opportunity at the last second for him and his dad to go 50/50 on a 10 acre piece of land near my parents' house -- they'll fix it up and sell it in a half year or so. But that leaves me with a decision -- move in there, move back in with the 'rents, or find a new place. I doubt I'll move in there as it's only a few miles from the 'rents house and I wouldn't have to pay rent at the 'rents house. If I stayed with my parents, there would be no rent, but the drive, especially during the winter, would suck. I hate driving, and I can't stress that enough. I imagine that the drive might be an hour and a half some days in the winter. Yuck. Finally, I could live by myself for 6 months or so, but then rent would stay about the same and I wouldn't be able to really accumulate some money that I need. I have some time to think about it, but right now I'm totally stuck. Maybe I'll just flip a coin. We'll see.
