Back in the swing of things
After an exhausting week in Florida, I'm back in my regular routine. Compared to last week, the days are much shorter as I'm not working from wake-up to bedtime. I think it's just one of a million examples of how you can't appreciate something fully unless you've experienced the opposite end of the spectrum -- last week I had no free time, and the free time I have this week seems like a mini eternity. The time last week in the nice weather was a great change from the cold here in MN. The restaurant food for every meal last week was a nice change from home cooked food. And vice versa. Even the soberness of the work week this week is a great change from the nightly alc-fest last week. I'm realizing more and more that I really get sick of routine in my life and once in a while, a change is a must. Going back to the original routine after the brief change is fine as long as the brief change is there. What's next? Madison this weekend after one weekend in a row at home and realizing again for the n-th time that it's a chore to get people to go out how I like to go out. Heck, I might do a spur of the moment Vegas trip next month, I have free hotel and entry into a poker tournament, all I would have to do is pay for a plane ticket. We'll see what happens.
Sometimes I hate being a procrastinator, I have my tax stuff ready to do but I'm just not doing it. Instead, I'm blogging :)
On Spike right now is a UFC Fight Night, which reminds me of the awesome UFC 68 this past weekend. Maybe it was that much better being in a bar atmosphere with a bunch of other people hollering with all of my friends, but I really think it was an awesome bunch of matches with somewhat of a comeback theme. Plus it was funny to watch about 3 barfights get broken up during the matches... tough guys must get in the fightin' mood when they watch that stuff.
I'll end this weird post with a note on how I thanked a certain someone... the someone played a huge role in giving me a great opportunity, and I repaid that person by giving them underwear (!). Hey, it was free in the mail, I don't have a gf, so what was I supposed to do with girl's underwear?!?!
