Busiest. Weekend. Ever.

So I haven't gotten on here in a few weeks as I'd say I've been busy. And I thought this past weekend was going to be a nice relaxing weekend. Well I had planned on grilling out in the afternoon on Saturday before UFC, but that's about it. That's just the beginning though...

Friday: Find out early in day that a softball team needs extra player. I agree and learn it is in Roseville at 6 PM. I leave work at 5 and miraculously make it there in 40 minutes. I find out it's a doubleheader, and I'm nearly dizzy tired after it's all done at 8. As I leave the fields I find out my friends are going out. I refuse to be a slug and tell them I'll go. I go. We stay out until bar time and one of the stupidest ridiculous things happens to one of my friends... I won't go into details here but he was the victim and he will be fighting it, and I will help in any way I can. The situation really sucks because, well, in a way, we were betrayed by one of our favorite friends, and this changes everything. Blech. Was still a fun night though.

Saturday: Wake up to a friend calling wanting to frisbee golf before the grilling and UFC. I agree. We disc golf and then head to grill. It is actually two parties back to back, the first being a retirement party for one of my friends' dads. Well since I usually cook, I get asked to be the cook for the retirement party. I happily oblige and slave over the hot and smoky grill for a few hours. I'm literally crying with the smoke in my eyes but for some reason I still love it. I get done with much thanks and have to take a shower to get the smoke off of me. A few hours pass as the retirement party people go and the younger crowd sets in for the UFC 100. Games are played and then I start cooking my second round of food, jalapeno mac and cheese and fried zucchini. I'm a bit nervous as this is my first try at the jalapeno mac. I'm pretty confident about the zucchini. Well the jalapeno mac was a hit! But, it was really, really, really spicy. So much for that shower after a plate full of that stuff. The fried zucchini went over well too, and all of my food got eaten. The UFC fights are amazing and we go late in to the night.

Sunday: I wake up at 8 AM as this friend is not one to sleep in and let others sleep in. I'm dead tired but push through to enjoy the nice morning. We get Perkins for breakfast and a little after that I head to meet some friends for my first round of golf this year. I actually play decent and it's a fun time, despite the slowpokes on the front nine that made it a 3+ hour front. After that, one of my friends that I'm playing with wants us to come with him to meet his girlfriend for her birthday dinner with her parents at Green Mill. I oblige. We go and my friend makes good on his earlier promise to tickle torture me and also gets one of his gf's relatives' kids to get in on it too. It's funny but it really is torture to me! I literally got tortured about 15 times. Oh well, it was some good food after a satisfying afternoon of golf. After this I drive my friend to his car and learn that two birthday girls I know are at a place having a drink in the opposite direction of where I have hockey in 90 minutes. I really wanted to sit around, but when they asked me "pretty please" I willingly gave in and brought my other friend over there so he could stay. I literally got 20 minutes with them to wish 'em a happy birthday and then I bolted to hockey. We smoke this team 9-0 and I'm frickin' dead. Of course a few guys want to go out for a drink after and I oblige. We go to the usual after hockey place and another girl I know comes and surprises me at our table and says hi, also mentioning it's her birthday. I chat a bit wishing her a happy birthday and send over a shot. I head home and can't sleep as my body is still revved up from the hockey. I think I hit lights out at 3:40 AM.

Was I tired today? Words can't even describe. But it was all worth it, and I'd do it again in a second.
