... and a weekend back out of the swing of things

Ho-ly crap. *moment of silence*

Sooo this ranks up there with one of the most ridiculous weekends ever. My aching body definitely agrees. Not the most ridiculous, but top 10, and for me that's a seriously high ranking.

We'll start here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eetCEfNc9_o . I'm in the background, don't ask me what I'm doing because even I don't know. Also, turn on the sound for this one, it's not the same without it.

Thursday: the long drive to Madison and arrived at 11:15 with one buddy. We thought it would be a low-key night. Uhh, horribly wrong. At midnight, we went out. Apparently our beginning stop at Monday's has escalated from one, maybe two drinks to at least 3, maybe 4. Plus shots. For those who know what Monday's is, well you know what I'm saying. 90/10 liquor/mixer ratio. Question: would a non-nerd have phrased that differently?

After that, City Bar, my beloved home to come back to. It really is our Cheers. Some after-bar messing around and I hit the couch, and I awoke knowing that I remembered everything, I mean, I was only out for two hours, right? Walking down the hall we passed a horrible mess of popcorn and someone asked if I was gonna clean it up. I asked why, and got told that it was me, and I confirmed with others. Whoops. I promptly cleaned up the popcorn, very confused and wondering what else I missed.

Friday: During the day, saw 300. Good idea, good previews, horrible movie, great to quote. Basically it could have been done a lot better, there were about five Braveheart speeches and some hard-to-follow storylines. But again, very fun to quote. We would quote lines from this movie in a drunken rage for the rest of the weekend. Friday night was designated for the birthday celebration of the man of the weekend. Dinner started at Takara for sushi. I have had little experience with sushi, but from what I've had I liked it. This would be my first time having it as the main meal, and it was great. Very satisfying, like nothing else really. Good start to the night. Next was the most ridiculous drinking game I have ever played. It involves watching the WWE Royal Rumble... you draft 5 wrestlers and have to drink for almost anything that happens. The drinks? Keg beer and shots of Jameson. Shots is definitely plural and means anywhere from 3 (lowest I heard someone had to take) and 9 (most I heard someone had to take)... and this is in aproximately an hour. Plus about 5 beers per person. After this, there was an actual royal rumble... on the loveseat with about 6 people. Yes, the loveseat got broken. Then we hit the bars. Monday's to start, and one in our group had to be carried home by his gf and sister. This was at 12:30. City to end again... and the wrestling theme stuck. One friend got put into a choke hold by another friend and passed out in the bar, whacked his head on the ground, then came-to after about 10 seconds. Another 2 friends fake fought and decided to go shirtless in the middle of the bar. Again, this was our home bar and we knew everyone, but they basically had to kick them out. So funny. The after-bar involved even more wrestling and eventually the video above got taken... and the coffee table eventually got broken. The pictures of this are unbelieveable.

Saturday: we'll call the day a resting period. Watched the Badgers win and had a few casual ones, thanking my lucky stars that I didn't have to do the Royal Rumble again. Dinner was burger and fries at Brats, and another cold one. For the hell of it we stopped by the City and had a few more... and I remembered a magic trick I read about in a magazine. I gathered the necessary supplies and after a few tries, I could make a toothpick disappear! I pretty much knew I would be showing anyone I knew for the rest of the night (and I did). So we're sitting at the City, it's about 8:30 pm, and the house phone rings. It's for me. (What?!) My friend is calling and telling me there's gonna be another Royal Rumble. NOOOOO! Well, long story short, we did it again and there was more madness, with pictures for memory.

Sunday: drove home straight to hockey, and wow, the combination of hangover and physical activity nearly drove me to insanity. I feel great today (with sarcasm). What a freakin' weekend. I think this next weekend I'll not celebrate my non-Irishness. But we'll see, it's a crazy life I live.
