Poker flashback
Somebody recently asked me what the most amount of money I ever lost in one day playing poker was. I thought it was like $2K online, but I decided to check. I think I was way off. At least according to my stats, I was. Just looking back made me remember how crazy the poker playing days were...
I always think about doing this seriously again. Playing poker, that is. It was just so damned volatile. Here was 2006 (in which I basically played January-July then never really played too seriously again, up to the present).
Stats for 193/365 days played (non-break-even) in 2006:
Average = +$51.46
Std. Dev. = $342.23
Hourly Rate = $29.70
Hours played = 398.85
Max. Daily Win = $2379.60
Max. Daily Loss = -$828.95
2006 Net Total = $11292.91
Win % = 58.3%
It's that standard deviation. Basically any day I play, losing or winning around $350 is considered completely normal. Thinking back, I can't believe I did that on a day-to-day basis. Can I do it again? I'd need start-up money. Of course, in 2006 I started with only $50...
