Stuck in my head right now

Anna Nalick - "Breathe (2 AM)"

2 AM and she calls me 'cause I'm still awake,
"Can you help me unravel my latest mistake?,
I don't love him. Winter just wasn't my season
"Yeah we walk through the doors, so accusing their eyes
Like they have any right at all to criticize,
Hypocrites. You're all here for the very same reason

'Cause you can't jump the track, we're like cars on a cable
And life's like an hourglass, glued to the table
No one can find the rewind button, girl.
So cradle your head in your hands
And breathe... just breathe,
Oh breathe, just breathe

May he turn 21 on the base at Fort Bliss
"Just a Day", he said down to the flask in his fist,
"Ain't been sober, since maybe October of last year."
Here in town you can tell he's been down for a while,
But, my God, it's so beautiful when the boy smiles,
Wanna hold him. Maybe I'll just sing about it.

Cause you can't jump the track, we're like cars on a cable,
And life's like an hourglass, glued to the table.
No one can find the rewind button, boys,
So cradle your head in your hands,
And breathe... just breathe,
Oh breathe, just breathe

There's a light at each end of this tunnel,
You shout 'cause you're just as far in as you'll ever be out
And these mistakes you've made, you'll just make them again
If you only try turning around.

2 AM and I'm still awake, writing a song
If I get it all down on paper, it's no longer inside of me,
Threatening the life it belongs to
And I feel like I'm naked in front of the crowd
Cause these words are my diary, screaming out loud
And I know that you'll use them, however you want to

But you can't jump the track, we're like cars on a cable,
And life's like an hourglass, glued to the table
No one can find the rewind button now
Sing it if you understand.

and breathe, just breathe
woah breathe, just breathe,
Oh breathe, just breathe,
Oh breathe, just breathe.

A 2nd job?

I've been thinking about getting a second job for two reasons: to meet more new people and for money. Ideally this would be in a bar or restaurant, one or two nights a week. Just an idea to think about....

What a weekend

I just got home now at like 2:30 am, but I'm not that tired so I might pull an all-nighter, we'll see. Here goes...

Friday night was chill, just stayed home with my roommate and some S & M. No not that, you sicko. They're people.

Saturday... well I didn't go to bed from Friday until noon on Saturday, yeah I'm crazy. Got up at 5 pm to go to St. Cloud for a wine party. Let's just say it was a typical night in St. Cloud. I think about half of the people I knew drank some blackout juice at one point during the night. You know, the last drink they had that they remember. I was not one of them, thankfully. But somehow I lost EVERYONE I was with and walked home alone in a city I barely know. Seriously, how did I lose everyone? There must have been at least 4 cabs taken. Sheesh. Anyways I finally got back to my friend's place and instantly crashed on the couch. We woke up this morning to two very nice messes, one, a sink FULL of chunky puke, two, a full bag of potato chips dumped out onto one of my friends' beds, spread out and crunched up no doubt. And this friend can be a hothead as it took me about 34 seconds to leave after about 4 people said that "J's gonna kick some ass when he finds who did this." It wasn't me but he would blame anyone to empty his rage, and I'll be damned if I was gonna be there when he got home. Someone apparently told J it was was my roommate so J ended up calling my roommate later saying he was gonna break his face, and my roommate didn't do it either. My roommate called back and squared things up but man, break his face?!

I got back today (well Sunday) and went to the Food and Wine Experience with a roommate at the Minneapolis Convention Center. Tickets were $55, so I was expecting to get my money's worth. While we did get a free crystal wine glass and another free wine glass, I'd only go again if we went all day on a Saturday and went out afterwards. There was plenty of wine to be had but you only got 0.003265 ounces of wine with each pour, and there were one-million people there so you have to stand in line for the good stuff. Also, not all of the vendors truly gave a shit about the wine they were serving; if I were a picky food connoisseur, that would probably piss me off. I heard one lady that was serving make a snotty remark to some unknowing chotch who eagerly asked her how much the wine he just tasted ran for, and she was like, "five bucks" with a look on her face that said "are you serious you pathetic wine-tasting wannabe?" Even if the guy didn't know what he was talking about, I found that uncalled for. It made me want to barf. Of course all of the food I had was excellent, but they were all teeny samples. The best food I had there was cheese too. Deep fried cheese curds were soooo good. So was the 20-month aged parmesan and 6-month aged romano. Honorable mention goes to coconut ginger chicken soup, some good salsa, and some thai cashew chicken salad. I'd pay about $30 for what I got today, maybe it's different on a Saturday.

And now the final chapter of the weekend. So... I had previously heard about a guy at my work meeting his wife through an internet dating site, and he was like, try it try it you'll like it. So, being the desperate clueless relationship moron that I am, I put up a profile. I'm not going into anymore details on here, so if you want to know what happened you'll just have to ask me yourself.

Whew!

Quite a unique night

Why: no poker, cut my own hair, and made cookies.

I cut my own hair because I only wanted to chop the sides and didn't want to pay full price for something that would take 2 minutes in a salon.... It did take me a good 20 minutes or so, but whateva, it turned out okay. I think. I can only tell so much from two mirrors...

Making cookies for me is rare, since I prefer salty over sweet. I made them mostly for others. I'll allow myself about 4 of the 60 that I made. Weird, the recipe said it would make five dozen, and it made exactly five dozen, what's the deal with that?

Whoa I'm hitting a brick wall for the 100th time today from being tired. Time to dozeoffda;fa;sldkfja; sldkfjlakjsd;lkjwoeiur023

Ready for the weekend

Pretty tired today after going to bed after 4 am, but still feel pretty good and am in a better mood than yesterday. In St. Cloud I'll get to see my friend Cathy who I only see once every few months. She's going to school to be a doctor of some sort, and she told me something once that I tried to deny but have to admit is probably true. She said to me, "Jeff, we're both nerds that like to have a good time." Yeah yeah okay. Apparently we're supposed to get married in five (now four) years if we're both still single, so I've got that goin' for me...

Wednesday, February 22, 2006

For some reason...

I was in a negative mood all day. Maybe it's the boredom, maybe it's the bills, maybe it's just being tired. I think I'll go make endorphins run through my head. Yeah. I could use the shaping up too as this weekend includes St. Cloud and the Food and Wine Experience, not to mention Fat Tuesday on, well, Tuesday.

Time to kill this thug mood...

You know you're bored when...

...you've run out of things to look at and search for on the internet. I didn't think this was possible?

Missing Madi

Looking over old pictures on giggidy.com really makes me miss Madi, so I'm going to take a day or two off of work for Mifflin as soon as I know the dates. For those of you who don't know Mifflin St. Block Party, it's a day Saturday to let go of all the stress before finals week, every house on Mifflin St. is part of a block party with countless people, barrels, and bands. It starts early in the morning and goes all day, so you get to stand outside and just have a good time all day and night, if you can stay awake. Time to do some research on those dates...

Jitteryenergy

Hmm maybe too much sleep was a bad idea. I'm sitting here inbetween running tests and I can't stop moving around. Songs in my head right now are ones that make me keep moving around:
Black Eyed Peas - Pump It
Cascada - Everytime We Touch
Oakenfold - Ready, Steady, Go
Fatboy Slim - Song for Lindy

Got to watch a little golf yesterday and I wanted to play soo bad. What would be nice is if I could bring in a putter to work and putt around the office. But... that probably wouldn't go over too well with management...

Okay, seriously

What's the deal with 5-blade razors? Or four? I use three, and that's probably a stretch. Really, are there whiskers that the fourth blade's not going to get that the fifth is? Just wondering.

Last night I felt like a hobbit making a bunch of fat portabella mushrooms and eating them all. Mmm. I also forced myself to get some good sleep by hitting the Nyquil. Today I'm feeling quite refreshed.

So...

...here's what happened last night. My roommate and I went over to my friend's house on Grand Ave. to watch some hockey and get our pre-drink on. This was at around 6. Inbetween periods we watched the best of Will Ferrell SNL. Filling in the smaller gaps was us being just complete goofs and making each other laugh until it hurt. I can't easily explain what was involved, but we all took our turns being just crazy and making each other die with laughter. By 10:30 we were ready to go out. As usual every place suggested ended up being vetoed by one in the group, but finally we decided on Drink. While standing around chatting, my roommate pushed me into the back of a girl who pushed back with a little shake. I responded and we ended up having a mini dance off with our asses. We matched moves without ever losing contact and even got low for awhile. And that was it, just a random ass shaking grind, no hello or anything, just giggles from both parties watching. Eventually we ended up on the dance floor to end the night, and that was that. My roommate and I left but couldn't find anyone else, and he made the suggestion to go to ___, and I was like, okay fine! He's been trying to get me to go and this time I obliged. Right before we walked in he upchucked all over the sidewalk too, not even missing a step. Some random passerbys started laughing their asses off, but my roommate kept on walking as if nothing happened. It was fun, I must admit. Afterwards while trying to find a cab, we walked back by his earlier mess made and it was frozen, and about three feet wide. Some people were standing over it amused and my roommate goes, what the hell is that, puke? I almost puked with laughter. That's about all, just another night. My head still hurts, ahhh!

What a night

Last night was awesome. But crap, I'm still too out of it to want to type. I'll do it later. My head hurts...

Relaxed

Didn't do a damn thing last night but the above. Shot the shit with the roommates and had a few drinks. Relaxing.

Today I woke up and watched an awesome Olympic hockey game between Switzerland and Canada. Canada are big favorites to win it all as their entire team consists of NHL All-Stars. However, Switzerland, much thanks to their goalie, shut out Canada 2-0. The shots in the final period were something like 25-1 in favor of Canada, no exaggeration. There was some intense action and heavy hitting, I was impressed by both teams. I'm currently watching the US take on Slovakia, tied at 0 after one period. This is so fun.

Still no plan for tonight, but I'm 99% sure I'll be out somewhere. Hopefully I'll have a good story or two to tell tomorrow.

Friday, February 17, 2006

I hope I sleep well tonight

I think I have a cold, blowing my nose all day and tired. Some decent sleep would help. Too late to take some Nyquil as it would have me groggy until 10 am or so...

Had a pleasant evening with the roommates listenin' to some old school rap and goofing around, hope the weekend is fun too. Did you hear about the girl that walked backwards into the fan? It was a disaster. Dis-assed-her, eeeeeehehe... yeah it was a goofy night kinda like that.

I'll be sure to put in an extra hard day tomorrow so I'll be itching for tomorrow night. 'night!

Like a zombie

I'm wide awake but very tired, thanks to caffeine. I really need a good night's sleep one of these nights.

I still need to make plans for this weekend. Next weekend is all planned out, but yet I still don't have a thing to do for this one.

I keep hearing that song Grillz. I'm gonna get me one of them when I get some cash. Not.

Sooo tired...

One-liners

I've heard some good ones over the years. A lot of these won't be understood by all, but damn they were funny at the time.

"Don't go to the mall!"
- black lady in the courthouse threatening another woman while waiting to get my underage drinking fine reduced

a: "We went to Fatburger."
j: "How ironic."
a: "What?!"
j: "..."
-at breakfast in vegas- my friend j commenting to a in, who is, well, take a guess

"I HATE the media"
-ds, who gets shit everytime anything about the media is mentioned now

"What would Joe do?"
-my friend Joe's screensaver. wow. the bad thing is, nobody else EVER sees his computer

d: (looking at a drink i just mixed) "Is that an Asian concoction?"
me: "Well I'm Asian, and I concocted it."

lowlife at Canterbury, dirty as all hell, who just raised the pot: "Eh, I'm tryin' somethin' new"
my friend t, sitting right next to him: "What's that, brushing your teeth?"

my roommate at Canterbury, who just grabbed the last open urinal: "So I guess this is what you call a full house, eh?" (looks, stares, and silence commence)

my roommate, who was piss drunk at my buddy t's house after a high school grad party, who just got caught peeing on the carpet by t: "well whuddidya expecme tado?"

to be continued...

Happy Vday and some random thoughts

I'm not miserable or anything for not having a Valentine today as my previous posts might suggest, I was just rambling and kidding around. Happy Vday!

I've been watching some of the Olympics, and I don't plan on watching any particular events besides men's hockey, but if it's on and there's nothing else to do I'll watch. I was chatting with a roommate while watching last night and we agreed that it is quite an achievement to win an Olympic medal. You are the best in the world on that day in that event. In the world. I can't begin to imagine what that would be like, being the best, and having proved it.

I've been listening to 93X talk about the Wayne Gretzky or "betzky" gambling ring, and how it's going to affect hockey. He claims he didn't know that his wife and assistant coach were heavily involved. Frankly, I don't care as long as he wasn't giving inside info on the games to anyone; let The Great One live his damn life. If he didn't know, he didn't know. Blah, stupid media blowing shit out of proportion.

The Shield really got into it this week, as I am really starting to hate Forest Whitaker's character. He really pisses ya off. But that's what makes it good.

"One double bacon cheeseburger, it's for a cop"
"Why'd you say that?"
"So they make it good"

Okay this picture posting is becoming addicting. This one is in Tampa, FL for the Outback Bowl in January 2005, on the beach, next to some awesome sand...
.....
.....

Humbug

Tonight I'm going home and eating a pint of Haagen Daz and a Hungry Man TV dinner. So depressing.

Just kidding.

I'm not doing much though. Just the usual. One of these years this day might mean something to me.

Lalalalala bored at work...

Blah blah blah happy day

Yah yah Happy Valentine's Day. I hope I don't hear too much crap at work about it, and I hope I don't get asked who mine is. I think I'll be a crabby sad old turtle tomorrow.

Okay I can't help myself, more random pics... from Festivus! Now that's a real holiday.
.....

I woke up, blinked, and the day was over... and some random pics

The day just flew by. I was busy busy busy at work and then I was done, days like that are nice as they go fast and it's a relief when you're done.

24 was awesome, as usual.

Don't know what I'm doing yet this weekend. The weekend after this one I'll be in St. Cloud on Saturday and the Food and Wine Expo on Sunday in Minneapolis. That I am looking forward to.

Now another few random camera phone pictures... these are from the beach in my friends' old house in Madison. There was sand, a pool, a bar, and a lawsuit waiting to happen.

Fun weekend

Well Friday was fun as I already mentioned. Last night was another fun one, and I was DD. One roommate wanted to go downtown but a friend back in the WB (my hometown) was having people over, so it was settled. Before heading there, I had my brakes fixed by my most-likely-to-be-brother-in-law, as he is a mechanic. It's good to have a mechanic in the family. Turns out I was down to the nub on my brake pads and rotors. Here is a pic of the rotors, the one on the right is the bad one, and if you look closely you can see how worn down it is:

So yeah, I was treading on thin ice. Pictures are nice eh? I have been thinking that I need to post more pictures. I chose a few from the camera phone at random, and here they are. Please excuse the shitty quality, remember this is a camera phone.

Some friends at The City Bar in Madison, my nighttime home at least three nights a week when I was there:

The Mediterranean pizza I made tonight:

My friends, umm, wrestling in Vegas:

My roommates and friend CA with me in front of The Wynn in Las Vegas:

And my friend ADart and me doing our best Blue Steel. That's from Zoolander, if you didn't know.

Okay I got that out of my system.

After dinner with the 'rents/fam, I went to my friend's parents' house, minus the out-0f-town parents. Sounds like high school all over. Everyone was sittin' around playing drinking games and being goofy. It was nice being DD for a change as I got to watch everyone transform. I got to watch some hot figure skaters on TV at the Olympics too. At the end of the night there were multiple dance-offs, which had everyone shaking and laughing their asses off. I definitely have some friends that are closet dancers, as I'll never hear them admit it, but in the right situations they'll really let go and go nuts.

Today I went to a friend's college grad party at an old bowling alley. We got to eat some good pizza and give each other crap about last night. Some were still in rough shape. In the next few years most or all of my friends will be done with college. I wonder where everyone will end up and who I'll still see.

Okay time to watch Batman Begins. Awesome movie.

Friday night!

Feelin' pretty good today despite going out last night. Dinner was good, seeing some people I haven't seen in a long while was great, and the Pat show was sweet again. I definitely liked the show at the Fine Line better as there wasn't nearly as much smoke and there was more room than O'Gara's, but it was still fun times. Again a thanks to S for being DD, I owe him a few now. Speaking of S, we both lost the bets. There was one involving $5, and one involving $500. Yes, that much. It was a about a million to one that it would happen but, yes, I'm saying there was a chance, ha! He was closer to the $5 bet but rockstar Pat stole everyone backstage. I, on the other hand, had everyone I was with drop like flies as I couldn't entertain groups of friends from three very different cliques. But it was good to see everyone. JCH, you need to learn to drink man. J/K. Well not really. But seriously, you need to learn. If you need practice, I'm out every weekend :)

I cannot sleep-in anymore, I swear. I went to bed around 6ish and got up around 8 and watched Jerry MaGuire and played some piano, waking up my hibernating bear roommate who was TRASHED last night. When we got home we were yelling who knows what and making idiots of ourselves while laughing so loud it woke my other roommate who had to work today, sorry!

Today I FINALLY get my brakes fixed, so I won't scare anymore pedestrians any time I slow down or stop. For real, I've been scaring the shit out of people. Some of the looks I've gotten... wow.

My other roomate wants to hit it hard again tonight, so I will oblige and go out again, which might take a Red Bull or four.

S, I know you're reading this at WORK, so water the plant in the lab. Really, pick your nerd ass up and go water the plant. Yes you're a nerd because you're at work on a Saturday. Nerd.

Happy weekend!

P.S. S you're a nerd

P.P.S. here's a song by The Darkness about Friday night, it's pretty cool

The Darkness - "Friday Night"

Hey you!
Do you remember me
I used to sit next to you at school
We indulged in all the extra-curricular activites
We weren't particularly cool

Monday cycling
Tuesday gymnastics
Dancing on a Friday night
I got Bridge Club on Wednesday
Archery on Thursday
Dancing on a Friday night

Hey you!
Could you ever fall for me
The way I fell for you
And do you dwell upon the thoughts that I occupy
Or do you give yourself things to do?

Monday rowing
Tuesday badminton
Dancing on a Friday night
I got ping pong on Wednesday
Needlework on Thursday
Dancing on a Friday night
With you, you.

Monday, Tuesday
Wednesday, Thursday
Dancing on a Friday night
Let the music smother me
Whole weekend recovery
Dancing on a Friday night
See the lady I adore
Dancing on the dancing floor
Dancing on a Friday night
God, the way she moves moves me
To write bad poetry
Dancing on a Friday night
With you.

Full of energy

I spent a good few hours last night cleaning up the kitchen and my room so I can be sane when I get home tonight. I just hope it's still clean by the time I get home. A good night's sleep had me wake up at 6 am without an alarm, which gave me time to run and actually cook breakfast this morning. I have plenty to keep my busy at work so time should fly, then it's off to downtown tonight, maybe I should prod S into another bet... can't wait!

A strange sleep

What a weird night, I got back from dinner around 8 and just crashed. I woke up around 1 am and for some reason I was craving the Blonde Ale from The Angelic Brewing Co. on Johnson St. in Madison. I fell back asleep about an hour later and woke up because I punched the wall really hard. I have no idea why I did it, but my hand hurt from punching so hard, and I don't remember what I was dreaming about at all. I woke up groggy despite sleeping for a good 8-9 hours, maybe because I interrupted the sleep halfway through. Very strange.

Going to see Pat McCurdy tomorrow night, should be fun again...

Busy and tired

Not much free time the past two days as I have been out to dinner with work/customer the past two nights, and have been tired inbetween.

So the fire department was at my house yesterday as my roommate came home to a smoky house and the fire alarm going off. Apparently the fluorescent light in our bathroom caused all the smoke, and our alarm system that we don't have activated has a fire alarm system for which a code is needed to deactivate. My roommate had to call the owner of the house to get the code and he wouldn't give it to us unless we called the fire department. There were two fire trucks and eight firemen at our house for basically a faulty fluorescent light. I'll call bullshit if we have to pay for the fire department visit, that's for damn sure.

Is it Friday yet?

In a pissy mood

Probably because I couldn't sleep last night. Then I wake up to smelling meatballs rotting from Sunday still left out. Now I hear the Twinks could get moved. I swear I'll shit a brick if that happens...

At least I have The Shield to look forward to tonight. Back to worka durka

Housework

"Housework is something else no one else notices, unless you don't do it."

This was a magnet on the fridge at my parents' house that I saw everyday growing up. So fucking true.

Oh yeah, happy morning...

I just got lost

...playing the piano for the last two hours. Usually if I get caught up into doing something for two hours without even knowing it, time was wasted. But this doesn't feel like time wasted. I have heard my sister play the beginning of Moonlight Sonata many times, and I finally gave it a real try. Very relaxing. Makes me want to try again tomorrow.

Mmm

I just made turkey a la king. I was so hungry for it by the time I was done cooking it that I almost drop-kicked my roommate in the face. As soon as it was done, I grabbed a bowl and started chomping. I now have 3rd degree burns in my mouth, but fuggit, this is good shiiit.

NINE MINUTES UNTIL 24. yessss

My next trip

This won't happen for at least a few months, but I can dream, can't I? Naturally for me the first place I think of is Vegas. However, I am going to make a pact with myself that I don't go there unless I have $1000/day to spend. No, I am not exaggerating. After going three times, this is about what I need per day to not have to think about budgeting. Of course I would never plan to lose it all, but I would be prepared to. And not all of it would be lost to gambling, a good half to three fourths would be on fun stuff, i.e. the clubs. Speaking of the nightlife there, I honestly must say that my last trip was mediocre in comparison to the trip I took for spring break in Madison. No offense to anyone that I just went with, but all anyone but myself wanted to do is gamble gamble gamble and play poker poker poker, which was down my list a ways. My number one priority in Vegas is to go out and experience the nightlife. This last time I only did once and I had to drag my roommate along with me, and he's glad I did.

I'd like to see Europe sometime, but that might require a decent sum too. I would need traveling buddies too. I'll look into it.

A lot of food

Super Bowl Sunday included a 15 lb turkey, mashed potatoes, string beans, summer squash/zucchini, stuffing, and chips & salsa. I am still full. I'll be eating turkey for the next week too... I need to get my dad's recipe for turkey a la king.

I had to take Saturday night off as I was still dizzy from Friday. I went to bed around 6 am Saturday morning and woke up at 9 am. That led to me sleeping from 2 am Sunday until 1 pm. That 11 hours is the longest sleep I've had in some time, and it felt pretty good.

Hmm, not much more to say today, back to the routine work week tomorrow...

A fun night

I wasn't sure what the night would bring but it started when I called my buddy on Grand Ave. He said a few people were goin' out, and that's all I needed. My roommate and I headed over for drinks then bars. We watched some Family Guy and recorded hockey shootouts, and I even got to witness some of my friends wrestle, damn that was funny.

First we headed to Rosen's, one bar out of many that I will see for the first time this year. There was a college-aged crowd with a semi-empty dance floor. We stayed there for awhile and a few who I was with ventured onto the dance floor to show off their stuff to the ladies.

After a few drinks and shots we headed across the street to Drink. I ended the night with Grey Goose on the rocks, damn that was stiff. Here there was also a dance floor, and this time I was ready to do some movin'. I made eye contact with a girl who was staring at me so I went over to have her tell me that I was "soo cute." Whoa. It's nice when there's little work involved. We danced until bar time, and said our goodbyes. I could have gotten her number but there wasn't as much attraction on my end. Still, it was fun to have someone to grind with for awhile :) I got some beads too :P

Oh man, my roommate does some funny stuff. While at Drink, he was also out on the dance floor talkin to some girlies. But damn, he was a bit tipsy. He tells me he's talkin' to this girl, and he says, "Wanna feel my cock?" She replied, "You need to work on your pickup lines!" And he replied, "Sorry but that's all I've got!" Wow. Wow. Wow. Wowwwwww. He'll be gettin' shit for that one for awhile. I hope he doesn't kill me for putting this on here...

After bars we headed to Perkins for a late/early breakfast. The details get a little blurry here but we all scarfed down their yummy breakfasts. It was sooooo good.

After Perkins we headed back to our place to crash, but not before a little poker. I didn't play with the others, but apparently they were falling asleep/passing out inbetween hands. I think I saw 5:57 on the clock right before I crashed.

Fun night.

On top of things

This week I'm glad to say was pretty productive. Grocery shopping, dry cleaning, pants hemming, clothes shopping, cleaned house, played poker, and got a decent amount of sleep. Now I just need to make it a productive weekend. And by productive, I don't mean any of that kind of stuff just mentioned... Yeah, that'd be a nice finish to the week.

Off to drive the roomie to the airport...

Thursday, February 02, 2006

What does this weekend hold?

I have no idea, besides the Super Bowl, that is. Of course I want to go out, but where and with who? Or Canterbury? Or just a lazy weekend? Nah, scratch that last thought. Downtown calls.

Tomorrow I have to get up early to drive my roommate to the airport before work as he is flying one-way to Chicago to pick up and drive back a car he just won on eBay. He's been doing well buying cars and re-selling them, and I respect his drive and ambition a lot.

I wonder if there are any good movies out? I haven't checked lately and I haven't been to one lately, so that's an idea. I'll think of something. 'nite.

The universe, again

My two roommates and I were having some sort of convo/argument over a bunch of random stuff like if we thought aliens existed, if we actually landed on the moon, and the universe was infinite space. It's that damn universe question again, and it got my mind boggling, again. One of my roommates had an argument that made my mind spin even more -- he said the universe can't just end, if there was an end, there would have to be something on the other side. My head is going to explode.

On another note, I finally got to grocery shopping after work today, and I decided to try Byerly's for a regular all-out trip. Man is it nice in that place, carpeted aisles and all. What really surprised me was that after checking out, my bags were put into bins and were sent outside through some sort of passage, and I found that they have a pick-up lane you drive up to and they load all of your groceries for you. Wow. No schlepping for the rich folk.

Damn, that's some spicy chili

It was so spicy it had my face flushing. But it was good. The chili was from a small sub shop close to work and looked to be one of their specialties, so I tried it. It had more tomato in it than I had ever had in any chili, and it was good. I overheard the owner (I'm assuming) talking to a customer about how he adds jalapen0 and habanero to spice it up rather than weaker spices like black pepper. It was nice to hear him talk about his product with pride, I respect that.
