Halloween weekend
I love halloween. After deciding on my costume last Sunday, I spent what seemed like every free second working on my costume... Sexycat. And I must say, it turned out wayy better than I thought it would. Being based on the actual song Sexyback, I had a friend make me a theme song, which I will post a link to later. So yeah, I spent all week working on the costume and had a theme song to boot. I couldn't wait for Saturday night. I was actually tired from lack of sleep during the week due to working on the costume, so I hit the hay early on Friday, 10 PM in fact.
I woke up at noon, yeah, 14 friggin' hours of sleep! Crazy. I got up, went to buy the final pieces to my costume only to find that Target was out of face paint. Not wanting to have to go to another store, I, well, sort of improvised... and headed toward the cosmetics section. Some pink blush for my nose and eyeliner for my whiskers sounded good, and yes, this was my first time buying this sort of stuff, and no, I don't think I'll be back in that section. It was interesting to see reactions from all of the girls in the aisle watching some dude checking out makeup, haha.
I got back home, finished the costume, ran, showered and finally put on the cat suit. I would insert a picture here, but I don't have any of my own, so I'll have to steal one from someone when they're up on Facebook or whatever.
First stop was M's party, and I showed up first at 8 sharp like some square nerd, but I didn't care, I was ready to go, and my other group of friends had all already left for the other party I would head to later. Anyways, M pulled off Cruella de Vil quite well, but she didn't have to actually lock her dalmations in the basement, that was taking it a bit far... ;) The food was good and the company was better, I actually knew a few people so it was easier to get around all of the martial artists that were there. Unfortunately I made plans to go to two parties, so I had to leave right as the party was really gettin' started. It was fun to see people of all ages getting all into the dressing up thing, so I won't start feeling silly as I keep dressing up as I get older.
I headed back to St. Louis Park for the second party, and apparently a little word of my costume had gotten out as I was greeted by shouts of "Sexycat!" as I walked in. All the girlies wanted pictures with me, so I reluctantly obliged.... well okay I didn't mind it :) Well seeing how this party had started in the late afternoon, most there were, well, a lot more in the tank than I expected. And apparently I got there just in time to catch everyone leaving for the bar already. Somehow some of us didn't get in the first few taxis, and luckily I still had yet to get started on the beer, so I was sober cab to downtown.
Downtown was freakin' packed. There were a ton of people running around in costumes, and I was surprised at the amount of car traffic as well. We ended up at a cheap parking lot where I planned to leave my car, so I drove up to the ticket guy to get my ticket, and he asks me, "Are you supposed to be a furry?" I had no idea what he was trying to say, so I just said that "I'm a leopard." He was like "Oh." Just as I'm pulling away he asks, "Do you know what a furry is?" Me: "No." Window guy: "It's a type of fetish." GAHHHHHH! Shit man, yikes! I'm glad I had four others with me as I sped away to get a parking spot.
So it was only 11:00 PM which was really only 10:00 PM due to daylight savings, so we had plenty of time to spend downtown. I was pumped. We ended up at the Annex, and as has been the norm lately, we headed straight for the dance floor. Some drinkin' and dancin' for a few hours in the midst of every type of crazy costume you could think of, and midnight rolls around. Sweet, 2 more hours. Then, surprisingly, I notice everyone seems to be filing out in small groups to get cabs back. wHaT??!! Come on! I messed up my sleep schedule for this night! It got down to my last friend who was dressed as a clown (the one who made my song) and me, and I told him I'd take care of the rest of the night if he just stayed out with me until bartime. He did, and I was saved. We walked around and looked for a place with no line, and we found Barfly which was sure to be full of ridiculous costumes. It was. We grabbed drinks and hit the dance floor, no surprise there. I don't mean to stereotype, but groups of Asians seem to hang out in flocks in some of the bars downtown, and this was no exception. A girl in one of these groups dressed as a bee grabbed me and pushed me up to her friend and was like "dance with my friend!" as her friend shyly ran away giggling. It's too bad she was too shy. Or maybe this is that song, I'm... too sexy for my- okay just kidding, I'll shut up now :) We stayed until a little after bar time, and finally headed back to see if anyone was still alive.
Everyone was asleep. Booooooooooooooooo. Do I need to tone it down? Hmm... never! At least the clown was still up with me. All the pizza places were already closed so I fired up the grill and made some buffalo chicken to eat as we watched some Arrested Development. We were loud as hell too to remind the sleeping others of how they prematurely bit it :) I finally went to bed at 6 AM satisfied.
I woke up dying of thirst at 8 AM, and I was up for good. 2 hours of sleep and still going. It was a fun day too. I got a ride downtown to get my car, went to my friend's house who had the second party last night, and some of us headed to Chipotle for breakfast/lunch, mmm. Oh, and I was still wearing my leopard cat pants with the long furry tail to get some looks. I definitely heard some whispers as I left Chipotle, hehe. Now this is where I'm wondering what I was thinking... having had a laugh at the reactions to my cat pants at lunch and the fact that my car was dirty dirty, I decided to go to the car wash, one that you had to get out of your car so they could do the full cleaning thing. I pulled up, got out of my car, and headed into the walkway to pay and wait. I paid as the cashier giggled, and went to sit in the waiting room with about 8 others. I'm pretty sure everyone did a one-look and quick turn away, with a few that snuck a few extra peeks at the cat pants. When my car was done, I walked past the car wash crew who I'm sure were also surprised. Hahahahahcrazyfun!
I got back to my house to find some others were about to head to Davanni's for some pizza. I wasn't even hungry but decided to tag along so I could make even more of an ass of myself. Same story as before, some looks and giggles, and my friends having to bear the embarrassment. hehehehehe.
Got back to the house, watched football and Nacho Libre (funny!), and then a roommate decides to go to Boston Market for dinner... another chance to flash the pants, ha. Unfortunately, this one put his foot down and demanded I change pants if I was to go along. Aww, it was fun while it lasted. A lot of junky food and crazy cat fun makes for an enjoyable Sunday and the end to a good weekend :)
